Brockwell Lido & Charton Lido - Both outdoor pools.  Brockwell is unheated, Charlton is heated.  Book in advance.  
 
Folkstone Gardens Skatepark - Deptford.  Free.
 
Honor Oak Panthers - hockey for up to Year 11.

Various venues - The Summer Holiday Programme provides free places – including food - for children who would usually receive free school meals.  From 26 July to 27 August, clubs will be running across the borough, providing all sorts of activities- including sports, arts and crafts, drama, and more.
 
Somerset House "Dodge" - a new outdoor experience that’s a bold new take on dodgems. Under 12s have unlimited free rides on the dodgems on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from midday to 15.00, advance booking is essential.  Open until 22 August.

 

MUSIC / ARTS

Lewisham - young artists - further information about a range of opportunities in Theatre and Performing Arts, Dance, Music, and Visual Arts and Design from Lewisham Educational Arts Network.  Costs vary.

New Cross - Music with Beats Lab - write as well as produce in whatever your preferred musical style is, including Trap, Drill, Hip Hop, Afrobeats, Grime and R&B and record your own vocal/lyrical ideas. Rappers and singers welcome.  Register to attend.  Workshops held at Woodpecker Youth Club.

Deptford - Creekside Centre events

Royal Academy Young Artists Summer Show, all by children, some Hatcham student work included!  Free. 
 
Leicester Square classic movie statues tour - audio tour of a variety of classic movie statues in Leicester Square narrated by Alex Zane.  Free
 
Leake Street Arches - an underground street of graffiti near Waterloo - just go to see the street art or of you want to have snack and play any board game you can think of, visit cafe Draughts.
 
Somerset House - No Comply - a free exhibition looking at the phenomena of skateboarding and the impact of its culture and communities on the UK over the past 45 years.  19 Jul – 19 Sep.

EVENTS

Hilly Fields Summer Fayre, 17 July 2021.

Life-size Indian elephant sculptures - Green Park, on now until 23 July 2021.  Free, you can walk amongst and touch the elephants, and read information about the co-existence of humans and wild animals.

The Original Jerk Cookout - Horniman Museum Gardens, 31 July 2021.  Family activities, live music, activities, and jerk, vegan and vegetarian food cooked by top Caribbean and African chefs. Book in advance.

Summer by the River - throughout the summer holidays - The Scoop, London Bridge.  Outdoor screenings, wide range of music, dance, shadow boxing, fitness.  Free.
